My Water Heater Exploded!

Water heater repair

It was a typical day at Arch Plumbing, and I was all set to head out for my first job when the phone rang. A gentleman on the other end of the line told me that his water heater had exploded, and I couldn’t believe my ears!

He explained that he was on the first floor when he heard a loud bang followed by the sound of water gushing out from the basement.

When he went downstairs, he was shocked to see water everywhere. He quickly turned off the main valve and called Arch Plumbing immediately.

I asked him to send me a picture of his water heater so I could order an AOSmith 50-gallon water heater to be delivered. I promised to take the old one with me as well. The gentleman was thrilled and sent me the picture right away.

I arrived early to remove the damaged water heater.

I was taken aback when I saw the extent of the damage, and it was clear to me that it had exploded due to excessive pressure, which a PVR (Pressure Reducing Valve) could have prevented.

Looking around, I noticed no expansion tank to help the situation. Nonetheless, I removed the old water heater, received the delivery at 9:00 am, and installed the new one.

Before leaving,

I installed both a PVR and Expansion Tank. Then, I let the gentleman know he could always call me if he had any concerns or issues with his new water heater. We guarantee our products, and he was happy with our service. It was well done, and I felt proud of my work as a plumber.

“I appreciate you taking the time to read about my experience.”
